Yo so I’ve had a long history from 64 to now, but because of where I lived I didn’t know of tourneys and such until like 2017… so I have probably some good potential but really bad habits… I can see some punishes when watching professional vids but also am dumbfounded by how people made it not as fun but just too competitive. I almost won my first round in Project M after having not played in years as Yoshi and Roy. I don’t have a main, and I’m not tooting my horn, I’m just asking how does a hermit-esque player break habits and start adjusting

I played melee comp when smash 4 was coming out , ended becoming a dog at the wii u and 3ds version as well. Ultimate came out and all that confidence went out the door. Im so ass at Ult. At least anything I do online is ass and un enjoyable 💔I practice so much. Recently I gave up, i never thought i would b giving up one of my favorite Franchises

I actually play competitively and take every bit of advice with a grain of salt, bc some strategies will work against some people, like for example, I was playing Dark Pit, whilst my opponent was playing Pyra/Mythra. I was playing the corner game for the first stock and back threw them into a spike, instant stock. Did some pushing and spiked them as a ledge guard. Final stock was just like the first. Some people are not flexible so if you play to their weaknesses, they lose all chances of winning

In todays online landscape its VERY close to every single match, which sucks because now your 3 matches that shouldve taken maybe 15-20 minutes now takes a full 30 because they simply will not approach. I wish I could play one of my favorite games it just takes to long

I was facing someone, and they just triple SD'd immediately. Maybe it was because Tink has a stigma for bomb spam, but I pulled one bomb, you know, as a combo set up or if they tried to camp me. But nope, they shot one arrow, saw my bomb, and decided "nope" Sure, I've immediately SD'd before, too. On a laggy -- quite literally unplayable -- connection. It's annoying when *I* can't improve because someone has too much pride to deal with the POTENTIAL of spam, and it annoys me to know, *They'll* never improve for the same reason. I know that *I* struggle against spam/"mindless spam," so even if it's frustrating, you should STILL fight it. Every time you or your opponent checks out, you're both losing out on a learning experience, and I can't be the only one who finds that more annoying than any amount of PK fire spam.
